Elemental Silence
In Elemental Silence, wood and paper meet in a dialogue between matter and mind. Some surfaces remain open and luminous; others are touched by fire, their edges darkened like horizons fading into dusk. Strips of paper are woven across one another, forming grids that hold both order and vulnerability—an external echo of the balance sought within. The palette moves from warm wood and ashen gray to deeper tones of burnt umber and blackened edge, with cooler undertones that temper the heat of flame. Each gesture—layering, burning, weaving—acts as both construction and contemplation, a meditation on the threshold between presence and disappearance. What emerges is not destruction or despair, but an equilibrium that breathes between stillness and its interruptions, where silence itself feels elemental—neither void nor absence, but the quiet state through which all things begin again.
